Terms and Conditions for Enfield Carpet Cleaners

Professional carpet cleaning equipment used in a UK homeThese Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Enfield Carpet Cleaners provides domestic and commercial carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning, rug cleaning, and related specialist cleaning services in the United Kingdom. By placing a booking, you agree to be bound by these terms, which are intended to protect both the customer and the service provider and to ensure that all work is carried out fairly, safely, and with reasonable care and skill. In these terms, references to “we”, “us”, and “our” mean the cleaning service provider trading as Enfield Carpet Cleaners, and references to “you” and “your” mean the customer or person requesting the service.

These conditions apply to all service bookings unless we have agreed different terms in writing. Any variation must be confirmed by us in writing to be valid. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer, including any rights arising under UK consumer law where applicable. These terms should be read carefully before you make a booking, as they govern the scope of the work, how payments are handled, what happens if a booking is changed or cancelled, and how liability is limited.

Cleaner inspecting a carpet before service beginsBy booking with Enfield carpet cleaning services, you confirm that you are authorised to request the work at the property or premises concerned and that you have made all reasonable disclosures necessary for us to assess the job. This includes informing us of access issues, fragile materials, stains, prior treatment, water supply limitations, electrical restrictions, or any hazard that may affect the work.

Booking Process

A booking with Enfield Carpet Cleaners may be made by telephone, email, online enquiry, or any other method we make available from time to time. A booking request does not form a binding contract until we have confirmed the date, time, approximate price, and service details. We reserve the right to decline any booking at our discretion, particularly where the requested work is outside our service scope, the property is unsuitable, or the information provided is incomplete or inaccurate.

When you make a booking, you must provide accurate information about the type of cleaning required, the number and size of items, the condition of the surfaces, parking or access restrictions, and any special circumstances that may affect pricing or performance. Our initial quotation may be based on the information supplied by you and may be subject to change if the actual condition or scope of work differs from the description given. Where a visit is required to inspect the premises, any estimated price given before inspection is non-binding unless we expressly state otherwise.

Service team preparing cleaning tools for a carpet jobWe aim to arrive within the agreed appointment window, but arrival times are estimates and may be affected by travel conditions, previous jobs, equipment issues, or circumstances beyond our control. If a delay occurs, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you. You agree to provide safe and reasonable access to the property at the scheduled time, including access to the rooms or items to be cleaned, power supply where needed, and water supply where required for the service.

Service Standards and Customer Responsibilities

Our team will carry out the cleaning with reasonable care and skill and in accordance with the agreed service description. We may use professional cleaning agents, machinery, and techniques selected by us as appropriate for the surface and level of soiling. However, certain materials, such as delicate fabrics, old dyes, untreated natural fibres, or heavily worn carpet, may not respond uniformly to cleaning. In such cases, the results may vary and complete stain removal cannot be guaranteed.

You are responsible for moving small or fragile items from the areas to be cleaned unless we agree otherwise. Where we assist with moving furniture, this is done at your request and entirely at your risk unless damage is caused by our negligence. We will not be responsible for pre-existing damage, hidden faults, loose fittings, poor workmanship by third parties, or deterioration caused by age, wear and tear, or unsuitable prior treatment. It is your responsibility to tell us about any items that should not be moved or cleaned.

To help us complete the job efficiently, you must ensure that the property is ready for cleaning, safe to enter, and free from avoidable hazards. If we are unable to proceed because of conditions at the premises, including excessive clutter, lack of access, unsafe wiring, failure of water or electricity supply, or the presence of aggressive animals or hazardous substances, we may charge a call-out fee or cancellation fee as set out below.

Payments

Payment terms for carpet cleaning in Enfield will be confirmed at the time of booking or before work starts. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment is due immediately on completion of the service. We may request a deposit for larger jobs, repeat commercial work, or appointments scheduled for peak periods. Any deposit paid is part-payment of the total price and will be deducted from the balance due, subject to any cancellation charges that apply.

We accept the payment methods notified to you at the time of booking. If payment is made by bank transfer, card, cash, or any other method permitted by us, you must ensure that cleared funds are received in full. No deduction, chargeback, set-off, or withholding may be made unless required by law or expressly agreed by us in writing. If payment is not made on time, we may suspend further services, charge reasonable recovery costs, and seek interest on overdue sums to the extent permitted by law.

Cleaned carpet area in a residential propertyAll prices are stated in pounds sterling unless otherwise indicated. Quotations may include VAT where applicable, and we will make this clear if relevant. If additional work is required beyond the original scope, or if unforeseen issues significantly increase the time or materials needed, we will discuss the revised charge with you before continuing where practicable. If you decline the additional work, we may complete only the work originally agreed, provided it can still be done safely and effectively.

Cancellations, Rescheduling, and Waiting Time

You may cancel or reschedule a booking by giving us reasonable notice. Unless a different cancellation policy is stated at the time of booking, if you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice, we may charge a cancellation fee to cover lost time, administration, and travel planning. For larger or specialist appointments, a longer notice period may apply, and any such requirement will be explained at the time of booking. Deposits may be retained in full or in part where late cancellation causes us a loss.

If you are not present at the agreed time and have not arranged alternative access, we may wait for a reasonable period before treating the appointment as cancelled by you. If we attend the property but cannot begin work because of missed access, unavailable utilities, or unsafe conditions, we may charge the full or partial appointment fee, depending on the circumstances. Where we have to leave and return because access was delayed, additional charges may apply for extra travel or waiting time.

We may cancel or reschedule the service where necessary due to illness, adverse weather, equipment failure, staff unavailability, or other circumstances beyond our control. If we do so, we will use reasonable efforts to rearrange the service at a mutually convenient time. We will not be liable for any indirect loss arising from such cancellation or rescheduling, provided we have acted reasonably and in good faith.

Liability and Risk

Final service completion scene with cleaning equipmentWe will take reasonable care when delivering our cleaning services, but liability is limited to the extent permitted by UK law. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, we will not be liable for losses that are not reasonably foreseeable, including loss of profit, loss of business, or indirect or consequential loss.

Our total liability for any claim arising from the service, whether in contract, tort, negligence, or otherwise, will ordinarily be limited to the amount paid or payable for the specific service giving rise to the claim. Where an item is damaged because of our proven negligence, our liability may be limited to repair, cleaning, replacement, or compensation at our reasonable discretion, up to the value of the affected item or service, whichever is lower, unless the law requires otherwise. Customers are strongly advised to remove valuables, cash, jewellery, and irreplaceable items before the appointment.

We are not responsible for pre-existing defects, hidden damage, poor installation, colour loss caused by age or sunlight, shrinkage in unstable fabrics, or damage resulting from unsuitable prior cleaning methods. Where you request us to treat stains, odours, or contamination, you accept that results may vary and that some marks may be permanent despite proper treatment. We do not guarantee complete removal of all stains, bacteria, allergens, or odours, especially where they have penetrated deeply into fibres, underlay, or surrounding materials.

Waste Regulations and Environmental Handling

As a professional Enfield carpet cleaner service, we will handle waste arising from our work in line with applicable UK waste regulations and environmental responsibilities. This includes sensible segregation, containment, transport, and disposal of waste water, used cloths, packaging, and other cleaning residues where relevant. We will not knowingly dispose of waste unlawfully, and we expect customers to cooperate with any reasonable instruction that supports lawful disposal and safe working practices.

Some cleaning jobs may produce waste water, removed residues, or contaminated materials that require controlled handling. You agree that any waste generated by the service may be managed by us or by approved disposal routes in accordance with applicable law. If the work involves biohazardous, clinical, chemical, or other controlled waste, you must tell us in advance. We may refuse or withdraw from a job if the waste involved is unsafe, unclassified, or beyond the scope of our service and equipment.

You must not ask us to dispose of items or substances that are illegal, dangerous, or require specialist licensed handling unless we have expressly agreed in writing and are legally permitted to do so. Where bins, drains, or external disposal points are used, you are responsible for ensuring that their use is permitted. We may charge additional fees if waste handling requires specialist bags, extra labour, or third-party disposal charges.

Complaints, Amendments, and General Provisions

If you believe that the service has not been performed in accordance with these terms, you should notify us within a reasonable time after completion so that we can investigate. We may ask for photographs, a description of the issue, and an opportunity to revisit the property where appropriate. Any remedial visit will be offered at our discretion and without admission of liability, unless required by law. Failure to allow a reasonable opportunity to inspect the concern may affect the remedy available.

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in law, business practice, or service arrangements. The version in force at the time of your booking will apply to that booking unless a change in law requires otherwise. If any provision is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. Our decision not to enforce a right or remedy on one occasion does not waive that right or remedy on any future occasion.

These terms constitute the entire agreement between you and us in relation to the service, except for any written variation that we have expressly accepted. You may not assign your rights under the contract without our consent. We may assign or subcontract any part of the service where it is reasonable to do so, provided this does not materially reduce the standard of service agreed.

Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute, claim, or matter arising from or relating to the services provided by Enfield Carpet Cleaners shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where consumer law gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights remain protected under applicable UK legislation.

By confirming a booking, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms and Conditions. They are intended to create a clear and fair framework for the delivery of professional carpet cleaning and related services, while allowing us to deliver work efficiently, safely, and in accordance with reasonable commercial standards.
